Early Spring Brunch

James promises me that he will soon be writing a post for his West Texas backpacking adventure, but in the meanwhile I wanted to post about our first spring event – an outdoor brunch! Yes, amazingly last weekend the temperature rose to 85 degrees and everyone in Chicagoland ditched their scarves and parkas for shorts, polos, skirts and dresses. It was glorious, albeit short-lived. But we took advantage of the day and had our spring break team of students over for a lazy Sunday afternoon brunch.

I love that our townhouse has a fabulous patio, with plenty of space for a party of 8 to eat and relax and drink coffee and OJ. And I can’t wait for our arched trellis to start blooming with the vibrant orange blossoms it had all last summer.

Here are a few pics of our stellar group of students:

After feasting on what is probably my favorite meal of the day (Brunch!), James couldn't wait to bust out the Bocce set for our first game of the season. Here's to more 85 degree days and lawn games!
